AI Proficiency: Mastering Artificial Intelligence for Real-World Application
Use artificial intelligence on real work: choose a task, check the output, and keep a human responsible for the result.
Who it is for. People who already use AI tools at work and want a repeatable way to apply them.
What you will be able to do
- Name the task before you open a tool.
- Judge an answer against the source, not against how fluent it sounds.
- Record what the tool did and what you changed.
Lessons
1. Name the job before the tool
Lesson · 40 minutes
Artificial intelligence is useful when the job is specific. “Help me with this” produces a generic draft. “Turn these three customer notes into a five-line status, and flag anything you cannot verify” produces something you can check.
2. Check the output against a source
Lesson · 45 minutes
A fluent answer can still be wrong. Compare every factual claim with a source you trust: the document you supplied, a system of record, or a person who owns the fact.
3. Keep a person on the result
Lesson · 35 minutes
The tool does not own the email, the recommendation, or the number. You do. Put your name on work you send, and only after you have read it.
4. Put it on one real task this week
Lesson · 30 minutes
Pick one repeating task you already do: a status note, a meeting summary, or a first draft of a procedure. Run it once with a written job sentence and a source you can check.
5. Check your understanding
